Why Businesses Choose Express Plus
Express Plus pairs modular DC fast charging hardware with the ChargePoint software platform and services—so you can deploy high-power charging now and scale intelligently as utilization rises.
Scale power without redesign
- Start with the capacity you need today and add Power Modules/Blocks as demand grows.
- Dynamic power distribution helps maximize utilization across stations and connectors.
- Supports very high-power configurations (including up to 500 kW to a single port, configuration dependent) for premium corridor experiences.
Serve more drivers with Omni Port
- Offer NACS and CCS1 connectors in each port (Omni Port) to reduce “wrong plug” downtime and simplify site planning.
- Integrated payment and authentication options support public charging revenue models.
- Optional interactive displays (including 15” on select configurations) provide a premium, driver-friendly experience.
Open standards + energy tools
- OCPP 2.0.1 support and ChargePoint platform tools for pricing, access control and reporting.
- Remote energy management through the Admin Portal and APIs; supports OpenADR 2.0b (VEN) for demand response workflows.
- Commercial compliance features (e.g., ENERGY STAR®, UL listing, CTEP/NTEP and Buy America options) support regulated deployments.
Choose Your Express Plus Configuration
Express Plus is configured as a system: Power Modules feed Power Blocks, and Power Blocks deliver DC power to Power Link stations. Start with the station layout and connector strategy, then size Power Blocks and cloud/service options to match throughput and utility capacity.
Power Link 2000 – Single Connector
- Connectors: 1 × DC connector (commonly CCS1; NACS available with Omni Port; other options by request).
- Output: Up to very high power (architecture supports up to 1.2 MW per connector, configuration dependent) with 100–1000 VDC charging range and up to 500 A on liquid-cooled cables (connector dependent).
- Typical use: High-turnover corridor sites where one bay benefits from maximum power delivery and a simple driver experience.
Power Link 2000 – Dual Connector
- Connectors: Up to 2 connectors per station (mix connector types as allowed by configuration).
- Power sharing: Modular Power Blocks can dynamically distribute power across stations/ports to reduce wait times and improve throughput.
- Typical use: Public sites and fleet depots that need two bays served from one station footprint with scalable upstream power.
Express Plus Power Block – 200 kW Building Block
- Capacity: Up to 200 kW per Power Block using up to 5 modular 40 kW Power Modules.
- Utility input: 3-phase 400–480Y VAC (site electrical design required).
- Typical use: Scale the site in “blocks” as utilization grows—add blocks to serve more stations or increase per-port power availability.
Express Plus Power Module – 40 kW Increment
- Module output: 40 kW max output power, 100 A max output current.
- Efficiency: Up to 96% power conversion efficiency (datasheet value).
- Typical use: Add modules to increase total site power and improve concurrent charging performance.
Note: Connector types, cable lengths, displays, and Buy America options vary by region and configuration—confirm the exact BOM during design and quoting.
