ChargePoint CPF50 Series
Residential-Ready Commercial Level 2 EV Chargers
Networked Level 2 charging stations built on the ChargePoint
commercial platform. CPF50 is designed for shared driveways, multi-family properties, fleets and small commercial sites where more than one driver uses the charger and a basic home unit like the Home Flex isn’t enough.
- Commercial Level 2 charging up to 50 A per port (up to approximately 11.5 kW), with configurable current settings to match your electrical capacity.
- Single- and dual-port, wall-mount and pedestal options with 18′ and 23′ cables and overhead cable management kits to match your parking layout.
- Built for shared use: drivers authenticate with RFID or the ChargePoint app so you can see who charged, when and how much.
- Connected through dedicated 4G LTE cellular (via ChargePoint Gateway and supporting services) instead of relying on your private WiFi network.
Free ground shipping in the lower 48 U.S. states (at the advertised price).
Better fit than a typical home charger
- Commercial-grade hardware – purpose-built for shared parking, small fleets and multi-family garages rather than a single driveway.
- Cellular + WiFi connectivity – communicates over dedicated 4G LTE and built-in WiFi to the ChargePoint network, so you’re not dependent on home WiFi coverage.
- Flexible access & billing – set different policies for residents, family, visitors, employees or fleet vehicles instead of treating everyone like the same “home user.”
- Dual-port & Power Share options – serve two vehicles from one pedestal and one electrical circuit where it makes sense.
CP EV Charger can help you select the right CPF50 configuration, cloud term and installer connection for your site.
Why Properties Choose the CPF50 Series
The CPF50 Series delivers commercial-grade charging, flexible access control and dedicated wireless connectivity in a compact package. It’s ideal when a basic home charger like the Home Flex doesn’t provide enough control, visibility or shared-use support.
Commercial hardware in a compact form
- Outdoor-rated stations with wall-mount and pedestal options for garages, driveways and shared lots.
- Single- and dual-port models so you can serve one or two vehicles from the same location.
- Configurable current (Power Select) to match 20–60 A service and avoid overbuilding electrical infrastructure.
Shared-use access & billing
- Drivers start sessions using RFID cards or the ChargePoint app, so you always know who charged.
- Set different pricing and access rules for residents, family, staff, visitors or fleet drivers using ChargePoint commercial cloud plans.
- Track usage by driver or by port to support reimbursements or pass-through billing where allowed.
Built-in wireless connectivity
- Stations connect to the ChargePoint network over 4G LTE via a dedicated gateway and built-in WiFi.
- No need to put EV drivers on your private WiFi network or worry about SSIDs, passwords and coverage.
- Supports remote diagnostics, firmware updates and power management tools from the cloud.
CPF50 vs. ChargePoint Home Flex
We do not sell the Home Flex. It is a great choice for a single household charging its own vehicles at home. CPF50, by contrast, is a commercial-grade station that’s better for shared driveways, multi-family garages, workplaces and small fleets that need driver authentication, flexible billing and dedicated cellular connectivity.
| Feature | CPF50 Commercial Charger | ChargePoint Home Flex (home charger) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary use case | Shared residential parking, small fleets, workplaces, mixed-use properties and high-end residential driveways that need commercial-grade control. | Single-family homes with a dedicated driveway or garage space for one household’s vehicles. |
| Ports & sharing | Single- and dual-port models; dual-port pedestals can serve two vehicles at once and support circuit sharing (Power Share) on one branch circuit (where configured). | Single-port only; charges one vehicle at a time. |
| Connectivity | Uses dedicated 4G LTE cellular via a ChargePoint Gateway, plus built-in WiFi between stations and gateway. Not dependent on the site’s private WiFi for network access. | WiFi-enabled only; connects over the home’s WiFi network. No built-in cellular radio is advertised. |
| Access control & billing | Drivers authenticate with RFID cards or the ChargePoint app. Site hosts can control who uses the station and set different pricing or policies for residents, guests, employees, fleet drivers and more via commercial cloud plans. | Optimized for a single household. ChargePoint currently supports one account per Home Flex charger, and the app tracks total home charging rather than per-driver pricing or billing groups. |
| Power & speed | Configurable 16–50 A per port (Power Select), up to approximately 11.5 kW at 240 V on single-port models; dual-port models support power sharing across ports. | Configurable 16–50 A, up to roughly 12 kW at 240 V for one vehicle; no dual-port or power-sharing option. |
| Mounting options | Outdoor-rated wall-mount and pedestal options, including dual-port pedestals and overhead cable management kits for structured parking. | Wall-mount only; pedestal mounting requires third-party solutions. |
| Cables & connectors | 18′ and 23′ cable options, SAE J1772™ standard, with available NACS (J3400) versions and conversion kits. Overhead cable management helps keep walkways clear. | 23′ cable, SAE J1772™ connector; Tesla and other NACS vehicles charge using a compatible adapter. |
| Best when… | You need to support multiple drivers, track usage, recover costs and avoid putting guests or tenants on your private WiFi network. | You’re charging just your own household’s vehicles and don’t need separate billing or access policies for different drivers. |
Short version: if you’re deciding between a Home Flex and CPF50 for shared, semi-public or multi-driver use, CPF50 is the better long-term fit. For a single-household driveway, Home Flex remains a strong home option, but we only supply CPF50.

What Every CPF50 Project Needs
CPF50 stations are commercial, networked chargers. Each project includes a few core elements; individual product pages and quotes will provide a detailed checklist for your specific configuration.
Core requirements
- CPF50 hardware – the right single- or dual-port model, mount style, cable length and connector (J1772™ or NACS) for your site.
- Commercial cloud plan per port – required to activate stations on the ChargePoint network and enable access control, pricing, reporting and firmware updates.
- 4G LTE connectivity – typically provided via a ChargePoint Gateway that links CPF50 stations to the cloud without relying on the property’s WiFi.
- Professional installation – electrical design, conduit, breakers, permits and inspections performed by a licensed electrician or ChargePoint certified installer.
Options that many sites add
- Multi-year commercial cloud terms – align with leases, grant timelines or depreciation schedules.
- ChargePoint Assure® uptime coverage – proactive monitoring and on-site labor for eligible repairs on supported models.
- Power management – use ChargePoint Power Share and cloud-based power management to support more ports on existing electrical capacity.
- Custom pricing & driver groups – different rates and policies for residents, guests, employees, fleets and public users.
If you’re unsure which options you need, start by choosing a layout (wall vs. pedestal, single vs. dual port) and then contact us for recommendations based on your site, load and budget.
CPF50 FAQs
- When should I choose CPF50 instead of a Home Flex?
Choose CPF50 when more than one driver will use the charger (family, tenants, employees, fleet drivers, guests) or when you need control over who can charge, how much they pay and how usage is tracked. Home Flex is better suited to a single household’s private driveway. - Does CPF50 support Tesla (NACS) vehicles?
Yes. CPF50 stations support SAE J1772™ and, on select models and conversion kits, NACS (J3400) connectors so you can serve both Tesla and non-Tesla drivers. - Is a commercial network plan really required?
Yes. A commercial cloud plan per port is required to activate CPF50 stations on the ChargePoint network and enable access control, pricing, monitoring and updates. - Can I see who used the charger and when?
Yes. Because CPF50 is a networked commercial station, each session is logged to a driver account or access method. You can view session history, energy use and costs through the ChargePoint commercial cloud. - Do you install CPF50 stations?
CP EV Charger focuses on supplying equipment and project support. We do not install, but we can connect you with the ChargePoint installer network or work with your preferred electrician.
